A Brief Overview
Laser pigmentation removal targets excess melanin in your skin which can cause:
- Patchy skin tones
- Age spots
The laser works by only targeting the pigmentation area and not the surrounding areas. This in turn improves your skin tone and removes your unwanted pigmentation.
How Does Laser Pigmentation Removal Work?
We treat these melanin build-ups by lasering the area in question, breaking up the pigmentation where it then gradually leaves your body through the lymphatic system over a period of 4-6 weeks.
After laser pigmentation removal it is very important to follow these guidelines:
- Avoid very hot showers or baths for 2-5 days following treatment, instead, opt for a tepid temperature.
- Moisturise the treated area regularly.
- Avoid direct sun exposure or apply a high factor suncream if this is not possible.
- Wait for any swelling to reduce before applying makeup.
How long will the process take?
Depending on the size of the area being treated we generally say 15-30 minutes over a course of 3-4 sessions.
Which skin areas does it work on?
All areas of your body can be treated but the most common areas tend to be the face, neck, hands and shoulders as these are the areas frequently exposed to sunlight.
Are there any side effects to Pigmentation Removal?
After your procedure, you may experience slight swelling and redness to the treated area which will reduce within a couple of days. There is no downtime to this procedure so you are free to get on with your normal activities following the procedure.
Is Pigmentation Removal painful?
